Who we are
Latch for Tekmetric is made by Zoom Automotive LLC, 2014 12th St, Lynchburg, VA 24501. Contact us through the Feedback page in your Latch dashboard.
What the extension reads
Latch works inside Tekmetric, in the Chrome browser where it is installed. It stays locked until you sign in to your Latch dashboard and link the browser, and it only unlocks on the Tekmetric shop your account belongs to. When unlocked, it reads the repair order you have open: the jobs, parts, inspection items, tech notes and photos, so it can write findings, mark up photos and draft estimate jobs. Even before you link it, it notes one thing on Tekmetric pages: the shop number in the web address, so the signup page can fill it in for you.
What is sent, and to whom
- To the Latch dashboard: results only, such as the repair order number, which checks ran, and counts (for example, how many photos were marked). These are used for your history page and to count the repair orders in your free trial.
- To our AI provider (Anthropic), through the Latch dashboard: the photo or note you are working on when you ask Latch to write a finding, mark up a photo or draft estimate jobs. The dashboard passes the request on and returns the answer. It does not keep the request or the answer. It keeps only the date, the model used, the size of the request and its cost.
- Please do not type customer names, phone numbers or addresses into tech notes you send through Latch.
What we store
- Your Latch account: name, email and a scrambled form of your password (a hash). We never see your password.
- Your shop name and Tekmetric shop number, your plan and trial status, and your Latch settings.
- The browsers you have linked, with their Latch version and when they were last seen.
- Results history: repair order numbers, check names, counts and times.
- Messages you send us through the Feedback page.
What we never do
- Latch never asks for or stores your Tekmetric password.
- Latch never texts, emails or calls your customers. Sending to customers is always done by you in Tekmetric.
- Estimate jobs Latch drafts are only added to a repair order when you click to approve each one.
- We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who runs Latch for us
The dashboard and its database are hosted by Fly.io. AI requests are handled by Anthropic. We share data with them only to run Latch.
Your choices
- Unlink a browser at any time from your dashboard. Latch locks itself right away.
- Ask us to delete your account and stored records through the Feedback page.
Children
